Cycling circuit around the National Park, Mumbai

The Borivali National Park forms a green lung of an otherwise congested city of Mumbai. It is flanked on either side by the Eastern express highway and the Western Express highway, to its north by Ghodbunder road and to its south by JVLR. These roads provide an excellent cycling route of 60 km around the park. A perfect weekend ride!

This was my first ride after recovering from a slipped disc that I got on the ride to Gorai Sunset Point while trying to help a vehicle stuck in the sand on the beach. I was thrilled that I did not get any back pain and on the contrary, the core strengthening exercises for my slipped disc seemed to help improve my cycling!

It was also nice bumping into fellow cyclists -
first Brijesh Singh on Ghodbunder road and then the Ghatkopar Cyclists Club at Fountain restaurant.
